Today, the majority of Swedish households have at least one Japanese product at home, which has not always been obvious. The demand and appreciation for Japanese raw materials is now significantly higher than 30 years ago.

Father and son Kato started KATO Japansk Mat - Japanska Matspecialisten in 2013, and are now celebrating their 10th anniversary as one of Sweden's leading Asian wholesalers with a focus on quality Japanese ingredients and personal service. Today, the company has over 13,000 customers, ranging from private individuals to major wholesalers all over the Nordic region. During the first half of 2023, the company had sold 40,000 bottles of one of their best-selling products, "Kewpie Mayonnaise", which was an increase of 10,000 bottles compared to the previous year.
